Delik Ada lies on the east side of Köyceğiz Port entrance and it is close to point; Akiye Burnu.  It has a light tower Fl (2) 5s 35m 8M. A large hole under the light tower, pierces the island from one side to another. The shores are jegged rocks. Olive trees cover the island. An iron based pier on the east side of the island is to transfer visitors to the river boats that ply the channels to Dalyan and Kaunos. This pier gets very crowded by tripper boats. Boats can anchor off in 4-6m in calm weather. Do not leave your boat unattendant-this is not good or comfortable anchorage when the breeze kicks up. Eastern side of the island is lee from breeze. Ekincik Port is the best and the safets anchorage in the vicinity. Leave your boat in Ekincik and make your deal with cooperative, jump into river boat sail along the coast for about 2M and reach Dalyan. Dalyan-Caunos excursions take about 3 hrs. The entrance to the Dalyan channel is narrow. Shallow patches extend out from both sides. The position of these patches constantly changes. The entry into the channel is to be attempted only by person acquinted with the area. Local river boats do the channel excursions only.  The beach on your starboard is called as İztuzu Plajı. This beach extends about 4km. It is a turtle (Caretta caretta) breading ground. It has been taken under an environment protection programme. Limited facilities (a buffet and changing room) are available, but to protect the turtels, nobody is allowed on the beach after sunset.

The river from Lake Köyceğiz, spreads like a labyrinth of streams in the valley. The water is dull green colour, the narrow passages wind through dense reeds. One channel leads north to the wooden pier of village of Çandarlı. The houses of the hamlet lie among the gardens on the hillsides. You can see the acropolis of Kaunos from the pier. Magnificent tombs are carved into the rock, high on the cliff face at a bend in the river, above the facinating ancient harbour city of Kaunos. The setting is incredible reed-lined river, and rock sarcophagi lining in cliffs above. Proceeding up river, you pass through the gates of a fishpond and reach the village of Dalyan. The village of Dalyan is 5 M from the channel entrance. The village is a booming tourist resort and its setting is magnificient. Most provisions can be found here. There are regular minibus services to Köyceğiz and Ortaca.

After the village, the channel goes to Lake Köyceğiz . On the way, you come to Aqua Mia, a thermal spring known also as Rıza Çavuş Girmesi. This spring is famous for its beautifying mud. Warm water softens the skin eleminates wrinkles; it contains high ration of sulphur.
