The shelter is on the southwest part of the town, it lies on the west of the ferry pier. There are 5 – 7 meters depth in the basin. This shelter is filled with fishing and cargo boats and yachts are directed to anchor moor bows or stern – to on the landside quay. The fishing cooperative administrates the shelter (phone: 531 – 570 24 71). Water and electricity connections are provided. A fee is charged. There are restaurants and tea gardens along the waterfront. Provisions can be obtained from the markets. Public market takes place on Fridays. There is a slipway in the shelter; boats up to 23 m LOA can be hauled. Mechanical, electrical and carpentry works can be obtained. State clinic and pharmacies are within the vicinity. There are several transport facilities (buses and minibuses) to the villages in the island. Ferry services to Erdek, Istanbul, Tekirdağ and Marmara Ereğlisi are regularly available.
