Bozcaada Port is on the northeast side of the island. It lies at foot of the castle. There is 3 meter depth on the quay on the northern part of the entry. There are laid moorings tailed on the quay. Water and electricity connections are available, fuel can be obtained from a tanker truck. Toilet and showers are within the zone. The municipality manages the port (phone: 536 – 437 17 65), attendants will help you tie up. This port provides adequate shelter except in ESE winds.

Maintenance facilities are limited in the island. Provisional facilities are obtainable. Leaving the port on foot, you will see a park with teahouses and shady trees that offers very nice facilities to the visitors. Several fish restaurants are along the shore. Next to the park are several shops. State clinic, pharmacies and cargo companies are within the vicinity. Public market takes place on Wednesdays.

Bozcaada is known as “the cradle of grapes and wine”—famous Turkish grapes, ÇavuşÜzümü, are cultivated here. Visiting the island in August during the vintage season is highly recommended.

Scheduled ferry services are available from Bozcaada to Geyikli from whence you can reach Troy by hiring a taxi.

Nice beaches are located on the southern part of the island. Minibus services are regularly available. The settings in late afternoon are impressive.

With its moderate climate and nice swimming facilities, Bozacada is fast becoming a tourist spot. Numerous small hotels and renovated self-catering pensions’ exist. In June, July, and August, the island tends to be crowded with holidaymakers, but if you visit outside the high season, you will find that it still retains the charms of a fishing and wine-making village.
