ALİ BEY ADASI BARINAĞI (SHELTER)

Alibey Adası Shelter is on the northwest of Port Ayvalık, it lies on the south of Alibey Island. Depth in the inlet is 2 – 3 meters. Fishing and excursion boats occupy much of the main pier. The shelter is managed by the fishing cooperative (phone: 0266 – 327 25 39), and a fee is charged for mooring. There are 15 laid moorings tailed on the quay for the visiting yachts. Water and electricity connections are available. At the quay on the shore are a boatyard and showers. Bilge charge service is provided. Fuel can be obtained from a tanker truck. Hauling up to 25 m LOA is on sledge – and – runner method.
Cunda is a unique spot, the narrow streets, renovated houses and churches in its historic settlements are interesting to visit. Teahouses and nice restaurants offer all kinds of delicious Aegean seafood. Provisions are available. The public market is on Saturdays. Regular public buses run to Ayvalık – 7 km. There is also round – trip boat service from the quay to the town.
