Fener Adası and Deveburnu Point is on the north of the eastern shores of Gulf İzmir. Foça town and the marina stand on the east of Fener Adası and Deveboynu Point. There are two anchorages divided by a finger point where ancient castle stands. The one on the north is called Küçükdeniz and the other one on the south is called Büyükdeniz. Local fishing boats berth in Küçükdeniz. Fok Marina is in Büyükdeniz.

Fok Marina is administrated by Foça Municipality. There are 125 laid moorings tailed on the quay. There are 3 – 5 meters depth at the head of the quay. The depth in the middle is around 12 – 17 meters. Water and electricity connections are provided. Laundry service is available. Fuel can be obtained from a tanker truck. Electrical and mechanical works can be carried out. There is a slipway, hauling is on sledge and runners – the old fashioned way.

The castle was built by the Genoese and rebuilt by the Ottomans. The old city is near the castle. The road around it is nice for strolling. All sorts of provisions can be found from the markets in the town. Ferry services are available to Karaburun and Mordoğan in summer months – twice a day. Public market takes place on Tuesdays and Sundays (organic). Regular transport facilities to İzmir – 57 km is always available.

Northern west of Orak Adası is called Siren Rocks. Mediterranean seals shelter in the caves of Siren Rocks. Anchoring and swimming are prohibited in the zone.

A cove on the east of Orak Adası; 38.41.10 N – 26.43.28 E is a fair-weather anchorage. There are sufficient depths. Boats drop anchor in 6 – 8 meters. The bottom is weed and sand. Strong northerlies send in swell. Another cove on the east of Orak Adası is called Mersinli Koyu; 38.41.16 N – 26.44.02 E is a good stop for swimming breaks. The bottom is weed. Make sure that your anchor is well dug in. There are some residences, identified from a distance. The current in the channel sets to the north and south, it can attain higher rate when combined with strong prevailing winds.
