Gulf of Sığacık – Northern part of Gulf of Kuşadası

Our portal in this part will contain the zone from Point Teke on the west of Gulf Sığacık to Point Camilimanı on the north of Kuşadası. Guld Sığacık lies between Point Teke and Point Doğanbey on the southeast.

The shore line of the gulf from east to west is steep sided, they are not good shelter by Doğanbey side. Summer residential site line the shores. Anchient Teos Limanı is on the east. The northern shores of the gulf have very attractive settings and adequate anchorages. Port Sığacık is on the north where historical castle and newly opened marina are located. Sığacık town center is also very interesting spot with its facilities for the visitors.

All sort of provisions are available in the town. Transport facilities from Sığacık to Seferhisar are regularly available. Mechanical works can be carried out in the marina.

Northerly blowing winds are predominant in the gulf. It wakes up by noon time and dies off late afternoon. Winds blow stronger between Points Teke and Doğanbey and builds up heavy seas

The shores on the north of Gulf Kuşadası; from Point Doğanbey to Camilimanı Point are not hospitable. They are nice spots for the swimming breaks. Touristic hotels, holiday villages and summer sites occupy the whole shoreline.

The shallow shore that runs on the north of the Point Camilimanı where Küçük Menderes River reaches the sea. The alluvium of the river stranded the port of ancient city of Ephesus, which is now 5 km from the coast.

Caution: The northern tip of Eşek Adası is rocky. They are submerged rock, and the rocks extend to the north 80 meters. Careful plotting is required.
