One of the world's most important tourism areas with its unique 1.8 kilometer beach east of Yoğun Burnu.
Ölüdeniz, as a location, is the sheltered harbor section behind the small rocky island west of this beach. The harbor, entered through narrow channels between sandbanks, has been closed to all types of marine traffic for protection purposes. For this purpose, barriers are located at the entrance.
In this location where nature has been generous, offering all its beauties and activity opportunities, there are no healthy places for yachts to shelter.
This location, completely exposed to the Meltemi and receiving swell, creates difficulties for anchoring.
In very good weather, anchoring is possible in front of the beach, or one can stay in the relatively more sheltered cove immediately north of Yoğun Burnu.
Excursion boats make their transfers in front of the beach under difficult conditions. Boats organizing tours around the area drop anchor at 20 meters in this cove we mentioned and moor stern-to shore. Here the water is both deep and there is debris in the coastal section. However, if the weather is good and the swell is not bothersome, your view is beyond reproach.
Paragliding flights that start in the early hours continue until sunset. At different altitudes of Baba Dağ, which is 2,000 meters high behind the beach, there are paragliding runways.
Many paragliding schools behind the beach organize flights here. All paragliders land on the beach. In Turkey, when Ölüdeniz is mentioned, paragliding comes to mind, and when paragliding is mentioned, Ölüdeniz comes to mind. The suitable altitude and wind regime have caused this sport to develop here. The photographs and films taken during this activity create remarkable images in terms of light, color and appearance.
The western part of Ölüdeniz beach and the harbor section where entry is prohibited is a protected National Park.
All kinds of provisioning facilities are available in Ölüdeniz, immediately behind the beach. With its markets, restaurants, bars, hotels and guesthouses, Ölüdeniz offers options.
There are ambulances and a gendarmerie station in the area. There are regular minibus services to Fethiye, which is 13 kilometers away from Ölüdeniz. There are taxi stands available.
There is only one Ölüdeniz in the world. If one wishes to stay and live in this location, Gemiler Island, which is 2.5 miles away, is the most suitable place.
