The harbor is located on the southwest of Marmara Island, directly in front of the town center, immediately west of the car ferry and ferry pier. Basin depths range from 5 to 7 meters.
Although the harbor is busy with fishing and cargo vessels, berths are always allocated for private yachts. During summer months, boats typically moor stern-to or bow-to on the landside quay, which is surrounded by quays on all sides.
Management and Services:
The harbor is operated by Marmara Island Fisheries Cooperative (phone: 0531-570 24 71) and provides water and electricity connections. The harbor is situated in the heart of the town center.
Social Facilities:
Along the waterfront quay, beneath large plane trees, there are tea gardens, cafes, and restaurants. A public market takes place every Friday on Marmara Island.
Technical Facilities:
A spacious slipway facility is available for hauling vessels up to 23 meters LOA in emergency situations. Skilled craftsmen are available for mechanical, electrical, and carpentry works.
Health and Safety:
Being integrated with the town center, the harbor offers easy access to healthcare, security, shopping, and transportation facilities. The island has a health clinic, pharmacies, and a fast sea ambulance service. Coast Guard and maritime security offices are located within the harbor.
Transportation:
Regular bus and minibus services operate to various villages on the island. Ferry services to Erdek, Istanbul, Tekirdağ, and Marmara Ereğlisi are available from the island.
