Kabatepe Port is located on the western coast of the Gelibolu Peninsula, north of Palamut Point. It is a spacious and well-protected anchorage with its entrance opening to the west. Some vessels may anchor briefly at the entrance without obstructing port traffic, though this area is exposed to westerly winds.
The inner harbor features a quayside. The main breakwater side includes a ferry berth for Gökçeada ferries. On the shore side, there is a 76-meter quay where yachts anchor and berth stern-to. Depths average 3-4 meters in the middle, decreasing to 2-4 meters near the quay.
An inner basin within the harbor is designated for small local fishing boats.
PORT SERVICES
The harbor is administered by the port authority (Contact: +90 286-814 12 63).
Water and electricity connections are available. Fuel can be obtained via tanker truck. Waste water discharge facilities are provided.
The port has toilet facilities, a café, and a small market.
AREA FEATURES
The region is renowned for diving tourism, featuring 12 diving sites. Diving center boats berth in the harbor, and organized diving excursions can be arranged through these operators.
Regular minibus services run to Eceabat, located 13 kilometers from the port. Eceabat is a substantial town with adequate shopping and medical facilities. Frequent car ferry services operate from Eceabat to Çanakkale. A local market is held in Eceabat every Thursday.
The Gelibolu Peninsula is a historically significant area that played a crucial role during World War I, with numerous memorials and cemeteries commemorating fallen soldiers.
