SATURDAY SUMMER SUNDAY AUTUMN
BAYK Autumn Trophy 3rd Leg-BODRUM

The 3rd leg of the BAYK Autumn Trophy Yacht Races, organized by Bodrum Offshore Sailing Club with the support of Milta Bodrum Marina, took place in Bodrum on November 26-27.

On Saturday, November 26, the inadequate weather conditions for racing, as experienced along all our coasts, also manifested itself on the Bodrum course. At the morning briefing, the race committee, having lost hope due to the weather conditions, requested the fleet to remain in the marina.

The race officers, who went out to sea to take measurements, called the fleet to the course at a time when the racers were saying "it's no longer possible to go out to sea." The wind had given the officers hope. The flags inside the marina were showing this as well. The yachts went out to sea, but Poseidon persisted in his stubbornness and did not blow. After a long wait, the announcement was made that the race could not take place.

While some boats were anchored off Bodrum, circling around the vessel conducting yacht transfers, there were even some who jumped into the sea for a swim.

On Sunday, November 27, as the expected wind from the south began to make itself felt, Principal Race Officer Ayberk OLCAY announced that they had planned 2 sausage courses for IRC A groups, and 1 geographical course race for IRC B and Support groups for the day.

As the fleet set out to sea, the southerly wind was gradually increasing in strength.
