Çeşme Wind Blows Gently
Light wind conditions prevail in Çeşme marina and sailing waters
The final leg of the 5-stage İzmir Autumn Trophy took place on December 10-11 on the Çeşme Course.

Organized by EAYK and ICYC, and supported by ÇEŞME MARINA, the final leg of the trophy was sailed with the famous Çeşme Wind displaying its capricious character on the course.

Contrary to predictions on both days that suggested "This race cannot be held," the races were completed. With all 3 planned races being sailed, the trophy was completed.

After the 5th and final leg races with 28 boats competing, the trophy results were determined.

Accordingly:
In IRC I: ARNES
In IRC 2: BLUE MILES
In IRC 3: CYGNUS
In IRC 4: LADY SUN
In IRC 5: ADA
In Support Class: SMYRNA SAILING FIÇI Group earned the right to receive the trophy cups

During the days when the final leg was sailed, the award ceremony was cancelled due to the treacherous attack that occurred in Istanbul and the nationwide day of mourning declared as a result.

It was announced by the EAYK Commodore that the awards would be presented to their recipients in a ceremony to be held on January 21, 2017.

We followed the 5th Leg of the Izmir Winter Trophy from the yacht RAIN on the first day and LADIES FIRST on the second day.

You can find our observations from both yachts, race details, and different visuals in the January 2017 issue of SAILING WORLD Magazine.
