to all vessels navigating close to the coastline.

Those who dive illegally outside the rules generally do not use warning buoys to avoid drawing attention during these dives.

Captains navigating that route sail unaware of what lies beneath the water.

The incident that occurred a few weeks ago off Marmaris Kadırga Burnu Lighthouse caused the casualty to face life-threatening danger for days, while also

leaving those involved in the accident in a difficult situation.

The consolation was that the accident did not result in loss of life.

In this area, a small vessel dropped off 4 divers at intervals along the coastline.

The divers began diving within a 50-meter area from the shore.

At that moment, a vessel with a powerful engine was passing through that area and struck a diver who was surfacing.

The diver had fish on him that should not be caught due to fishing bans.

Following the serious accident, the casualty was taken aboard the vessel with difficulty and brought to the nearest port for medical intervention.

Similar incidents are occurring on many coastlines like the Marmaris Region.

These incidents, which put all captains - both professional and amateur - in a difficult situation, need to be addressed seriously.

With illegal fishing carried out day and night, many fish species are being killed before they can grow and reach reproductive age.

As long as there are buyers for these fish, it seems these incidents will not end.
