“HIT THE AMATEUR ON THE BACK”

In our article titled, we had reported the incomprehensible increase made to annual short-range radio usage licenses for the year 2021.

The problem was the increase of the 75 TL fee to 114 TL last year, and to 600 TL this year.

We addressed the issue from all angles and likened it to the DELI DUMRUL tax.

We also wrote about the reactions that sailors would carry out by coming together regarding the issue.

THE ABSENCE OF REAL UNITY AMONG SAILORS

Meanwhile, it became evident once again that there are no organizations to bring sailors together and ensure their solidarity in this and similar events.

Sailors, who organize very quickly among themselves, acted swiftly.

Especially following thousands of applications made to CİMER and the Directorate General of Coastal Safety, today the Directorate General of Coastal Safety made an announcement on its website.

In this announcement;

Our Institution's Board of Directors, with decision no. 2020/167 on Wednesday, 30.12.2020, reviewed the items subject to fees in the 2021 licensing services fee schedules and made an update to increase service fees by conducting cost analyses of each service fee within the scope of relevant legislation.

Due to the economic effects of the COVID-19 pandemic that started in mid-March 2020, difficulties have been experienced in implementing the increase made in the maritime and aviation band radio fee tariff.

In this context, to be re-evaluated after the economic effects of the COVID-19 pandemic end, continuity will be provided with the existing 2020 maritime and aviation band radio fee tariff. The refund process for the amount arising from tariff differences has been initiated for subscribers who have made payments for our license services.

it was stated.

NO INCREASE, 2020 FEE WILL BE PAID THIS YEAR

Of course, what concerns the mariner is being able to see the assessment by proceeding from the license number.

But when this page is accessed, the new assessment equivalents have not been announced so far.

This shows that developments are happening very rapidly.

As a result of these developments, what made mariners happy was that the State realized the mistake and showed the necessary reflex.

WITHIN THE STATE THAT REALIZED THE MISTAKE, WHO MADE THE MISTAKE?

At the end of all this; the state the bureaucrats who had the previous distorted, unfair and illogical decision made put the State in.

Isn't it very thought-provoking?

In light of these developments; some mariners wish that the decision taken by the State will also be an example to Muğla Metropolitan Municipality.

HOW MUĞLA METROPOLITAN MUNICIPALITY WEIGHS THE SCALE

Muğla Metropolitan Municipality increased the mooring fees at its own Bodrum Center and Gümbet piers for 2021 by 8% for Commercial vessels and 300% for Amateur

vessels.

The mooring fees, which have almost reached the prices of a full-service marina, have caused an uprising among amateur sailors who moor their boats here.

IS THE AIM TO SHAKE OFF AMATEUR SAILOR VESSELS?

Developments "smell like an operation to shake off Amateur Vessels from these mooring areas," say sailors.

Which vessels will be given space?

The developments regarding this and similar piers are another matter, the subject of a major story.

First, the purposes of this and similar piers need to be correctly determined, and it needs to be decided where, to whom, and in what manner they will provide service.

While we can moor at marinas whenever we want and receive service, can we moor at these mooring areas, can we take on supplies, and if so, what is the cost.

The Aegean Islands are on everyone's lips. When going there, is there a situation where you cannot find space at similar mooring locations?

If so, does it happen frequently?

In other words, how appropriate is it for someone moored to occupy that place for 12 months?

What will those who want to use it for short periods during the season do?

Boats have multiplied and don't fit in marinas and harbors.

So what's the solution? Who is responsible?
