Çeşme Castle was built in 1508 by the Ottomans. It carries all the characteristics of Ottoman architecture. Inside the castle there is a museum. The finds from ancient Ildır – Erythrae are displayed.
A few paces south of the castle, there is an Ottoman caravanserai built in the early centuries of the Ottoman conquest in 1529 by order of Suleiman the Magnificent, and it is now restored and transformed into a boutique hotel.
