Sucağız Bays

It is a sheltered cove located northeast of Tavşan Island. When the weather is calm in Hisarönü Gulf, when there is no wind, it is a cove you should immediately go to for cooling off.

The cove is entered between steep and high mountains. With pine trees bursting from between the rocks and volcanic rock formations that look handmade like a decoration, it has a completely different atmosphere. 

Three beautiful coves separated by headlands are side by side

In the first cove on the southern side, the slopes descend steeply to the sea and the depth is considerable. When anchoring close to shore at 10 meters on sandy bottom, it can be stayed at daily anchor. 

If staying overnight, it is definitely beneficial to moor stern-to shore. The winds and squalls that keep the cove cool can be disturbing from time to time. 

Daily tour boats come to this cove frequently. Due to their schedules, this place becomes crowded in the evening hours. When the boats leave, the cove is yours. You can also anchor in front of the area on the north side of the cove which has a flat area and beach behind it. When staying at this location, you also have a view over Hisarönü Gulf.

There is another cove just one headland up from here. It is a beautiful cove both in terms of shelter and tranquility. The bottom is sand and seaweed. There is a beach behind it. There are deciduous trees on the slopes.

There are shallows at the extensions of the headlands separating Sucağız Coves from each other. It is beneficial to pass them with clearance.

The eastern cove has crystal clear water in front of pine trees. If anchoring here, it is beneficial to stay as close to the west side as possible. This cove gets relatively more swell.
