It is a wide bay extending 1 mile southwest between Sığ Burun and Kara Burun.
Although this wide bay has different anchorages in various locations, the most commonly used is the area where the long quay of Selimiye Village, located at the end of the bay, is situated.
Upon entering the wide bay with Sığ Burun on our starboard side, directly on the village course, 250 meters offshore, there is a rock debris field spread over a 30-40 meter area with 1.5 meters of water over it. It generally has a buoy and attention must be paid to this area. Similarly, several rocks visible above water 350 meters from Kara Burun toward Selimiye Village and invisible debris are also spread over a 40-50 meter area. It is necessary to pass outside this area.
The anchoring and berthing areas of Selimiye Village begin from Çökertme Bay (36°42'80"N-28°06'15"E). This bay is the location of Selimiye's haul-out areas. In the middle of the bay, there is a small island with castle ruins on it. The area around this island and westward to the shore is shallow with debris. A stream flows into the bay. The fronts are shallow, and the western side has suitable depths for stern-to mooring (4-13 m). Wooden jetties from the shoreline facilities extend to anchorable depths. It is a bay sheltered from Lodos. In the bay with a mixed bottom structure, a local market is set up on Wednesdays.
Westward, a point extends from in front of Selimiye village. This small point and the shoreline extending westward are the areas where berthing and anchoring are most concentrated. At the small point location, there is a jetty operated by MUÇEV. Electricity and water connections are available.
The entire quay of Selimiye Village is at a depth where vessels can berth stern-to. Vessels anchor at different depths and berth accordingly.
On the extension of the shore, there are again small piers, locations where stern-to mooring can be done. The anchorage away from the settlement; is the northern shore after passing the shallows at the entrance of the bay. Many vessels, especially motor yachts, drop anchor here at 10-20 meters and moor stern-to shore.
Drop anchor at 10-20 meters off Selimiye Village. Stay on a long line. The bottom holds well.
In Selimiye, there are many different waterfront restaurants. All serve with fish-oriented menus. The atmosphere is very different. One can walk on the roads of the small Selimiye Village extending to the shore, and especially village bread can be purchased from those who bake them in gardens.
Vegetables and fruits are grown in lush green gardens. You can also buy from these in front of the gardens. While experiencing the village atmosphere with fishing boats, houses, families, coffee houses along the coastline, gardens behind them, and poultry, you get facilities with the most advanced touristic amenities.
There are very nice hotels and pensions, and they are almost in the sea. There are markets to meet every need.
