Yiğitler Shelter is located on the eastern side of Avşa Island, facing Paşalimanı Island. This well-protected anchorage is situated in Büyük Liman Bay, fronting Yiğitler (Araplar) town, between Marmara Point to the north and Büyük Liman Point to the south. It is the most sheltered harbor in the region.
Administration and Contact: The shelter is operated by Avşa Island Yiğitler Village Fishery Cooperative (Phone: +90 538-251 10 14).
Technical Specifications: Depth at the main breakwater quay ranges from 5-6 meters, while the shore-side quay offers 4 meters depth. The bottom is sand. Vessels can anchor and moor stern-to or bow-to the quay. The shelter has a capacity of 35 boats. Water and electricity connections are available. Fuel is supplied by tanker truck.
Boat Maintenance Services: A slipway facility can haul vessels up to 10 meters LOA in emergencies. Electrical and fiberglass repair specialists are available.
Amenities: Markets and restaurants are located around the shelter. A state health clinic and pharmacy are available 3 km away in Avşa center. Local transportation includes shared taxis and regular taxi services. Weekly public markets are held on Mondays in Yiğitler and Tuesdays in Avşa center. Hotels and guesthouses are available for accommodation.
Transportation: Ferry services operate from Avşa center to Erdek, Tekirdağ, and Marmara Ereğlisi.
