Sulubahçe Bay is a spacious and natural bay located on the southern coast of Bozcaada, on the western side of Sulubahçe Point. The bay concludes with a long and magnificent sandy beach.
The seabed consists of sand, and vessels can safely anchor in depths of 3-6 meters. The bay offers no shelter from southerly winds and is not suitable for refuge during southern weather conditions. During strong northerly winds, the anchorage may experience squalls. To the north of the bay lies low-lying terrain adorned with vineyards and stone houses. The beach is remarkably beautiful with crystal-clear waters. The waters off the bay serve as an important anchorage area where vessels awaiting northbound passage through the Dardanelles Strait drop anchor.
Immediately east of Sulubahçe Bay lies the famous Ayazma Beach, renowned for its excellent sandy shoreline. This beach becomes particularly crowded during holidays and weekends. Restaurants, bars, and a water sports center are available ashore. The sea's clarity and sand quality are exceptional.
Sulubahçe Point is accessible via road connection from Bozcaada town center, with regular minibus services operating throughout the day.
The rocky coastal strip east of Sulubahçe Bay is a popular spot for snorkeling enthusiasts, where free divers can frequently be observed exploring the underwater landscape.
