Located in the area called Yalancı Boğaz (False Strait) to the southeast of Marmaris Port, it is one of Turkey's largest marinas with extensive facilities.

Yıldız (Nimera) Island, south of the port, is not actually an island but a peninsula. It is naturally connected to the mainland by a very low and narrow strip of land. The northern part of this area continues as a wide shallow.

This area was at such a low elevation that it could lead vessels approaching Marmaris from the open sea to think there might be a passage east of Yıldız Island.

But now, with yacht masts, it looks almost like a boat field. This is Marmaris Yat Marina, the largest marina in the region.

The marina entrance is from within Marmaris Port. Since it is located right at the strait, in summer months, it blows gently and is not oppressive.

It has a capacity of 650 berths at sea and 1,000 boats on land. It holds the pulse of the region in maintenance-repair, wintering and boat building operations.

In the marina where boats are moored with laid moorings, electricity (220/380 Volt-50 Hz-16-32-63-125 A) and water are connected. In various locations of the marina, there are spacious and very clean showers and toilets.

For food and beverage needs, there is a large supermarket. Within the marina, there is a large and very modern laundry, a first aid center and an ambulance.

The marina has firefighting equipment for intervention both at sea and on land. There is also a ladies' and men's hairdresser in the marina, which is secured 24 hours a day both from towers and through a closed-circuit camera system.

The marina, which also includes an apart-hotel, has a restaurant and bar with a view overlooking the open seas within its botanical gardens.

The marina, which also has a swimming pool, fitness center, sauna, sports hall, library, and billiard room, has a radio station that broadcasts quality music 24 hours. The radio, which has a wide broadcast area, transmits meteorological bulletins at frequent intervals.

Within the marina, there is a children's club, sail washing area, and bank ATMs.

Marina office assists yachters with customs, insurance, airport transfers, car rental, diving services, and cylinder filling operations.

The marina has a sewage discharge unit and treatment system.

Regular shuttle services operate year-round from the marina, which is 8 kilometers from Marmaris by road. At the same time, free services are provided by marina boat to Marmaris, which is 2 miles away.

The marina participates in many international boat shows. Many domestic and foreign yachters live here. Excursion tours and entertainment activities are intensively organized for them. The marina is like a neighborhood, a district for yachters.

At the end of the yacht tourism season, many boats of various sizes are hauled out at the marina, and their maintenance and repairs are carried out during winter.  The marina, which has three travel lifts of 330, 70, and 50 tons, has a large yacht equipment sales store, very important maintenance and repair companies and workshops, charter companies, and travel agencies.
