It is the sheltered cove on the northwest of Tersane Island, the largest island in Göcek Bay.
The entrance to the cove is not visible from a distance. It is reached through a channel from the mouth, which is extremely narrow. The depth in this channel is 20 meters, and inside the cove it ranges between 5-10 meters.
A significant portion of the cove, which has a sandy-seaweed bottom structure, is shallow. Therefore, it is a narrow area in terms of shelter. Boats staying overnight especially need to take into account the strong winds that occasionally come from the mouth of the cove.
The indentation on the southwest of the cove and its eastern side are shallow. The shoaling that begins in the middle of the cove ends at the collapsed ancient historical shipyard ruins in the east.
It is said that the island takes its name from this shipyard. There are historical ruins on the shore.
Some parts of the island are olive groves. Since the local people leave their goats here, there are many goats and their sounds are quite loud.
On the shore, among the palm trees, there is a charming restaurant and its facilities. In front of the restaurant, there is also a pier where boats can moor with lines.
In terms of its preservation and unique appearance, it is a place that must be experienced among the Göcek Coves.
WARNING:
This cove is subject to anchoring prohibition, there are mooring buoys. Those who wish to use the cove can learn about accommodation and reservation conditions from the DERİA system (deria.gov.tr).
