It is well worth visiting Bayır Waterfall (8km from Orhaniye) and exploring the ancient ruins of Bybassos. The city of Bybassos is believed to have been situated on the slopes of Eren Mountain. Archaeological remains include fragments of the castle and an ancient theatre. According to historical accounts, people would travel to the temple on Eren Mountain, dedicated to Hemithea, the Goddess of Health, where they would sleep overnight seeking miraculous healing.
Transportation arrangements can be made through the restaurants in Orhaniye village.
According to Greek mythology, King Staphylus of Rhodes had two daughters, Molpadia and Partheos. One day, the king assigned them the sacred duty of protecting a newly discovered divine wine. A few nights later, while the girls slept, wild pigs broke into the storage area, knocked over the wine vessels, and spilled the precious sacred wine. Awakening to the chaos, the daughters were overcome with grief and fear of their father's wrath. In desperation, they threw themselves off a cliff to their deaths. The god Apollo discovered them at the bottom of the precipice and resuscitated both sisters. He transported Molpadia to Pazarlık on the Gulf of Hisarönü, endowed her with exceptional medical knowledge and healing powers. Molpadia became known as Hemithea, the Goddess of Health, and a temple was erected in her honor on Eren Mountain.
