Ortakent

Although Ortakent shores are located between Kargı Bay and Aktur, on our page we will cover Kargı Bay, which starts from the north of Bağlar Point, and eastward Ortakent Waterfront and the continuing Aktur Bay together.

Over time, it is impossible to separate this coastal strip, which has merged into each other, having the same geographical features and the same opportunities in terms of supply due to the dense construction along the coast.

In the coastal strip covering these areas, there are long beaches, a crystal-clear sea with a sandy bottom.

On the shore, there are summer houses and tourist facilities. During summer months, it is a stopover point for many boats, including daily tour boats.

There are many water sports stations along the coast.

Although this area, which is open to the south, is sheltered from the meltemi, it occasionally experiences squalls from the northern mountains.

KARGI BAY

It is located immediately north of Bağlar Point in the west.

There are many piers of various sizes. These piers are places where daily tour boats dock or some charter companies make transfers. They are not suitable for yachtsmen's use.

Anchoring is between 4-12 meters. The bottom holds anchor well. On the shore, there are camels for taking tourists around and taking photographs. The beach sand is excellent but it gets very crowded.

ORTAKENT WATERFRONT

It is the coastal strip from Kargı Bay to Aktur Bay.

A perfectly flat beach covers the entire coast from end to end. Hotels and tourist facilities are lined up along the shore, there is Uludere Stream and right in front of it a marinet operated by Ortakent Municipality. In the marinet, which can be moored to with pontoons, there is electricity and water. (Contact: 0252-348 44 45 / 358 62 02)

You can anchor on sandy bottom in front of the marina, paying attention to the shallow area formed by the stream delta. From the dock, a 3-kilometer land route passing through tangerine orchards leads to the center of Ortakent Town, located on the Turgutreis-Bodrum route.

In the town where all needs can be met; there is a health center and pharmacies. A neighborhood market is set up on Wednesdays. Regular minibus service and taxis are available.

When requested, fuel is brought to the dock by tankers. To the east of the marina, there are the facilities of Era Sailing Club, one of Turkey's major sailing clubs. Many young people begin their sporting lives at this club and achieve international success. Since they train in this bay all day, they also provide beautiful views.

AKTUR BAY

It is located immediately east of Era Sailing Club. On the slopes of this beautiful bay, hidden between two hills, is Aktur Holiday Village, one of Turkey's finest summer resorts. Entering, anchoring and staying overnight in this sheltered bay with a weedy bottom is virtually impossible. 

Many private mooring buoys and the line marking the beach area make anchoring in the bay impossible.
