It is a large bay located to the east of Aktur Bay. It is a harbor for all weather conditions except Southerly and Southwesterly. The northern side is more sheltered.
There is a stream flowing into the sea on the west side of the bay. This area is shallow.
There are buoys parallel to the shore to mark swimming areas along the coastal section. In Bites Bay, which has a muddy bottom structure, anchoring is done at 4-10 meters taking into account the buoys and the entry-exit lines of water sports centers.
There are also floating water sports centers in the middle. The anchor must be dropped carefully. On some nights, strong northerly winds descending from the mountains and sudden squalls may challenge your boat. The mornings are very beautiful.
You can meet all your needs from the shore with your dinghy.
The entire coast is full of a long beach area and beautiful tourist facilities. It is very organized and controlled.
On the eastern side of the bay, there is a pier operated by Bitez Municipality (Municipality: 0252-363 80 51).
It is necessary to drop anchor for mooring. It is advisable to be careful with the anchor as it can be crowded.
Boats also tie up to the concrete pier connected to this pier. The mooring area behind the main pier is quite shallow and narrow.
This pier is especially served by daily tour boats and a diving school's boat. To see Bodrum's underwater beauties, it is sufficient to reserve a place on the boat departing from here. Next to this pier where electricity and water are connected, there is an emergency haul-out facility for boats up to 10 meters.
The pier has a very nice cafeteria along with toilet and shower facilities. Fuel supply is provided by tanker.
The name of touristic Bites, which has hotels, pensions, and various restaurants and cafes, comes from the Greek word for vineyard and orchard.
Almost all houses in the town have olive and mandarin trees in their gardens.
