Söğüt Bay is located between the high Dedek Cape and Küçükyalı Cape, southwest of Karaca Island.
Surrounded by dense pine forests, at the end there are extensive agricultural areas with a stream.
The sea is clean, the bottom structure is a mixture of sand and seaweed. It holds anchor well. It is sheltered and also serves as a winter harbor. There are many places to anchor or moor in Söğüt Harbor. In fact, Söğüt is the largest settlement among Gökova bays.
Inside Söğüt Bay, there is a boutique marina, sailing school and facilities belonging to "Global Sailing Academy". You can access detailed information about this place from the relevant page.
At the entrance to the bay, on the western side, you can anchor by taking shelter along the shores of high mountains covered with pine trees. North and south of Global Sailing Academy, there are mooring places that are very sheltered and have a magnificent atmosphere. The depth is considerable in these sections.
Inside the bay, there are suitable spots where you can comfortably stay at anchor. However, the eastern shore of the bay is not recommended for sheltering as it is primarily exposed to meltemi winds, perhaps only in calm weather. On the southern part of this coastline, there is the fountain named after the famous sailor Piri Reis, where he supplied water to his ships.
A stream flows into the sea along the coastal section, and the area in front is shallow. In the middle of the coastline, there is a vaulted pier belonging to a private facility. Water and electricity connections are available. It has a restaurant, market and laundry.
Just east of this facility is the MUÇEV pier. Day boats, charter boats and permanent yachts are moored. There is space available at the pier. Many boats winter at this pier. Electricity and water connections are available. All needs can be met at the market, restaurant and cafe behind the pier. Fuel needs are met by tankers coming from Marmaris. The village has a health center and taxi stand. There are also regular minibus services to Marmaris, 22 kilometers away.
Söğüt and its surroundings are places worth visiting and seeing. There are walking trails. One of these trails, from the western side, through the forests, winds up to the hills and offers you magnificent views.
