These are the coves located on the southwest coast of Köyceğiz Harbor, which extends north between Kızılburun (36°47'31"N-28°32'81"E) in the west and Delikada (36°47'54"N-28°35'72"E) in the east.
When approaching Köyceğiz Harbor, which lies among mountains covered with pine trees, from the Marmaris side, it is advisable to pass carefully around Kızılburun. There are above-water and underwater rocks that have caused difficult moments for many vessels and mariners. Shoals and debris form in front of every small cape extending north from the cape. These rocks, located between 40-185 meters from the capes, must be taken into account, and Kızılburun must be passed from offshore, leaving a minimum distance of 150 meters. This area continues until the last cape extending east.
After this cape, you arrive at Semizce Coves with their hills covered in lush green pine forests, contrasting with the red rock structure. The coves are sheltered from the meltemi but open to the east. On days when the meltemi is strong, a light breeze enters from Kızılburun.
In the deep Semizce Coves, there are two recommended sheltered locations.
KÜÇÜK SEMİZCE COVE
36°47'94"N - 28°32'94" E
This is the southern cove. It extends south from the end of Kızılburun rocks. It is a deep, very small cove. A maximum of 2 vessels can moor.
Anchor is dropped at 15-18 meters and lines are taken ashore. You are now in front of pine trees in crystal clear water. It is pristine, with no road access.
If you find space on gulet vessels, definitely stay. Generally, these locations are where those wishing to go to Dalyan stay.
Since entering Dalyan waters by boat is prohibited, passenger boats belonging to cooperatives pick up yacht customers from here and tour Dalyan. You can contact the cooperative boats via VHF channel 06.
BÜYÜK SEMİZCE COVE
36°48'98"N - 28°31'49"E
It is the wide bay to the west. Anchor is dropped at 6-10 meters on sandy bottom, and a line is taken ashore. The shore is rocky, and rocks continue underwater. The south is more sheltered.
