Baba Island

LIGHTHOUSE: 
Fl (2) 5s 58m 7M It is a small island with a lighthouse located 1 mile east of Karaburun.

On its southern side, a cave runs through the entire length of the island. On the western part of the island, which has olive trees and shrublands, there are ruins of a castle.

On the north side of the island, there is a small cove. As throughout the entire region, the bottom is sand. Here, anchor is dropped at 6-8 meters depth, and a stern line is taken from the shore. The rocks where the stern line is taken are sharp, precautions must be taken. This is the most sheltered location of the island and it receives some swell, albeit minimal. 

The area in front of the island is generally extremely exposed to swell. The cove becomes crowded at night. It is especially the place where commercial vessels operating in this region moor. The area from the island to the shore is not deep. Even small swells coming from offshore multiply here and disturb the vessels.

The section opposite the island is the Sarigerme beach area where very luxurious hotels and holiday villages are located. Water sports center boats serving these hotels go back and forth between the island and the shore, creating waves.

The region is 12 kilometers away from Dalaman International Airport by road. There are taxi stands at the hotels on the shore. It can be considered the nearest anchorage to the airport from the shore in the region.

There are diving schools in the area that conduct dives at 5 beautiful locations.
