
It is a wide bay southwest of Alibey Island, between Sivribe Point and Pınar strait.
To the north and east of the bay, there are tourist facilities among the pine trees.
It is a location that serves as a harbor in northerly winds and provides shelter in Meltemi winds. The bottom is weedy and anchor holds with difficulty.
Anchoring is done in the bay at depths between 3-10 meters.
If staying overnight, it is advisable to take a stern line from the rocks of the hill located in the middle of the bay or from the shore on the south side.
Occasionally, northerly squalls come down hard into the bay.
It is a bay heavily frequented by all vessels departing from Ayvalık, and it is crowded.
However, after 17:00 the bay becomes calm.
At night, the lights of Lesbos Island and the views of the surrounding lighthouses appear very beautiful.
