50 Beauties at Marmaris Waterfront - 34th Marmaris Yacht Charter Show
Turkey's Premier Yacht Charter Exhibition Returns to Marmaris Marina
07-11 May 2015 marks the 34th time that luxury Gulets and Motor Yachts are being showcased at Marmaris quay.
The event, which aims to bring together these luxury vessels - the majority of which are built in Turkey - with "Yacht Charter" agencies coming from all around the world, commenced with the participation of 50 beautiful vessels and over 80 agencies.
The event, which was inaugurated with a ceremony held at Marmaris Castle, continues to make a very significant contribution to our country's tourism in its 34th year.
This organization, considered the beginning of the season for the crewed yacht charter sector, is held in four locations worldwide: Antigua (Caribbean), Genoa (Italy), and Poros (Greece), in addition to Turkey.
The Mediterranean's oldest "Crewed Yacht Tourism Promotion Organization", this event takes place in Marmaris.
Speaking at the opening ceremony of the organization sponsored by Marmaris Municipality and Ergo Insurance, Marmaris International Yacht Club President İskender AKBAŞ stated: p>
" When I think about the early years of this organization that has been taking place for 34 years, I was very impressed to see how far we've come. Considering that 34 years ago charter activities were in their infancy, recognizing this need under those conditions is a source of pride.
The fact that this festival, which our club has been organizing with its sponsors for 34 years, is held in only 4 countries worldwide is also significant in terms of demonstrating our country's position.
The festival, which started with the aim of introducing vessels and their crews closely to charter agencies, plays an important role in yacht tourism. It's an activity that brings together vessels, their personnel, operators, and those who promote and market our yachts abroad. These agencies get to know the vessels, their personnel, even the chefs' cuisine, and include them in their sales portfolio."
Every year at the event, a "Cooking Competition" is organized and chefs have the opportunity to showcase their galley dishes. This same competition will take place this year as well. Surprise prizes await the chefs who present the most delicious dishes. Marmaris quayside will be filled with a different vibrancy until May 11th.
