Wind Takes a Break at Halit Narin Federation Cup
Orhaniye Regatta Faces Challenging Wind Conditions

We are at Orhaniye Martı Marina for the traditional race organized by the Turkish Sailing Federation. The races held in the same month every year generally coincided with days when the Hisarönü Gulf wind had not fully settled in. The youngsters would spend the event staying on the course for hours, waiting for wind, and attempting practice runs.
This year we are facing a situation completely opposite to what we experienced in the past. When race-worthy weather conditions are added to the perfect and flawless organization, happiness is reaching its peak in Hisarönü Gulf.

Everything has been calculated in this event sponsored by Martı Marina. What wasn't calculated, the people of Marmaris complete. They are following the competing boats from viewing spots they've set up on the hills in all commanding areas of Hisarönü Bay. Among the densely wooded forests, many people, whether interested in sailing sports or not, are watching.
226 Optimists, 123 Lasers - a total of 349 boats have filled Hisarönü Bay.

All clubs from different cities of Turkey have brought their athletes to Orhaniye. Preparations that start early in the morning continue with the races and end in the late afternoon. The athletes, judges and organization are satisfied with completing all the planned races.
Each morning, the fleet departing from Martı Marina raced in different locations of the bay. The Optimist class raced close to the shores of Hisarönü Village, the Lasers between the shores of Turgut Village and Bencik Cove, and the Radials found their wind on the course between the west of Bencik Cove and the east of Kameriye Island.

This year, the jury committee accurately identified the windy locations of the gulf and is racing the classes in these areas.
The races ending on Sunday, May 24, conclude with the awards ceremony held at Martı Marina on the final day.
The podium at Mistral Restaurant by the poolside has been prepared for those receiving the Halit Narin Federation Cup awards.
