Kıyıkışlacık is a cove entering in a northerly direction. It is advisable to be careful when entering the cove.
Although the mouth of the cove appears wide from a distance, there is a very narrow channel for entry. The reason for this is the old collapsed breakwater and remains.
At the entrance, you will see an old Byzantine tower. This tower is connected to the shore with stones. On the western side of the tower, there is a submerged breakwater down to 1 meter depth. Entry will be made through the narrow area between this submerged invisible breakwater and the tower. The essential thing here is to enter by keeping the breakwater 15-20 meters to port of our vessel. While entering, you will also see the submerged breakwater on your port side underwater. The end of the breakwater, which generally has a buoy, occasionally remains without a buoy due to sea conditions.
The interior of the cove is sheltered from all winds. The prevailing wind is from the north. The breakwater, even though submerged, blocks the waves from southerly winds.
The deepest point of this cove is 8 meters. Towards the end of the cove, the depth decreases considerably.
The bottom structure is mud, anchor holds. You can either anchor fore and aft at a suitable location or moor stern-to.
Our recommendation is to berth at the western pier. Since there is no lazy line, you will drop anchor at 4 meters and come alongside.
The pier is operated by the Village Headman's Office (0252-537 70 91).
At the pier where 40 vessels can berth, there is always an official to welcome you. You can get electricity and water at the pier. Gas and ice are available in the town. Fuel is brought by tankers. However, for purchases over 500 liters, the headman's office assists with tankers that can provide service.
When you moor, you will be intertwined with history in Kıyıkışlacık, as you are now in the Ancient City of Iasos. Especially in the evening when it gets dark, the view of the illuminated historical areas is spectacular.
With very nice and natural restaurants, where you can meet your needs from markets, fish is abundant in Kıyıkışlacık. It is possible to find various fresh fish in many fish markets.
Kıyıkışlacık is 25 km by road to Bodrum Milas Airport and 30 km to Milas. There are frequent minibus services to Milas. It is also possible to find taxis. There are also guesthouses in the town.
In Kıyıkışlacık, there is a health center, a pharmacy, and a gendarmerie station.
